PHYSIOLOGY TESTING

Physiology allows your body to perform. We accurately measure physiological variables such as VO2, lactate threshold, wattage, anaerobic and aerobic thresholds, and more. This data is used to interpret current fitness, evaluate strengths and weaknesses, and compare current performance capacity with potential capabilities.

VO2 & LACTATE THRESHOLD ASSESSMENT $175

*VO2 or Lactate Individually $125

Combining the benefits of Lactate and VO2 data, this is an excellent assessment of fitness and form.  This test provides the most data about genetic capacities and current capabilities. We perform VO2 in conjunction with a unique blood lactate assessment based on the FaCT Canada protocol. Our unique protocol provides the data needed to create an appropriate training plan. We provide blood lactate data, respiratory O2 and CO2 data, and ventilatory data. Training zones based on heart rate and/or wattage are available. Having performed these tests for over a decade on cyclists and triathletes, we will provide a logical and practical interpretation of your results to offer you the knowledge to affect the way your are training.

POWER PROFILING $75

Power profiling allows us to evaluate your strengths and weakness by assessing your watts per kilogram capabilities at landmark time intervals. This test involves a specific field testing protocol to evaluate neuromoscular power, anaerobic capacity power, maximal aerobic power, and threshold power. The test is done using a powermeter. If you do not have a powermeter, we have them available for rent or purchase. From the data, we interpret your strengths and weaknesses, comparing your data to the watts/kg chart to determine your ranking in competitive categories.

RESTING METABOLIC RATE $125

Are you curious about your daily caloric needs? This is a great place to begin. This assessment will provide your resting (basil) metabolic rate. This is the amount of calories your body requires per day at rest. From this number, calculations will be performed for an accurate assessment of how many calories you utilize during your typical day. This amount is also broken down in types of calories; carbohydrate, fat, or protein. General strategies and recommendations for caloric diet changes also will be made.

BODY COMPOSITION MEASURE $25

Interested in knowing your body composition? We use the gold standard Lange skinfold calipers to obtain your percentage of lean versus fat mass. This is an accurate estimation of your body composition. The complete test with calculations and discussion of results will take 30 minutes to complete.
