Palm Springs Training Camp for Cycling by Upper Echelon

February 5th to 11th, 2012


Who?  This camp is open to intermediate and advanced level cyclists.  The camp will focus on cycling training and will have professionally led training each day. Riders should be able to ride 3-5 hours in a small group.  If you have questions if this is a good fit for you, call or email!

What?
  Cycling training camp in Palm Springs, California.  A full week of training in the sunshine with coach led work-outs each day.  Escape the rain and get a huge boost of fitness and have a lot of FUN!

When?  Sunday, February 5th to Saturday, Feb 11th, 2012
 
Where?  We have a great house! We have reserved a posh estate near downtown Palm Springs.   All the amenities you could ask for, with a pool, chef, WiFi, this will be a relaxing atmosphere off the bike. Once you arrive in Palm Springs, we will take care of the rest.  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. All you do is train and relax.

Rate:
$1500/person.  8 Beds available. Includes housing and food but not travel.

Bike Travel: In van from Portland with camp staff:  $50

Van Travel for camper and bike from Portland:  $150 (limited availability, call/email to inquire)


How do I reserve a spot? 

$500 non-refundable deposit, remainder due by Jan 30th.

Schedule (tentative):

Sunday: Arrivals & bike assembly.  Easy spin West of town.

Monday: 3-4 hour ride, climb to Fire Station at HWY 74.

Tuesday: Tour de Palm Springs Loop, 3 hours.

Wednesday: Joshua Tree, 4 hours.

Thursday: 2 hour recovery ride through wind farm.

Friday: Swim: 4-5 hour ride, climb to Idyllwild.

Saturday: 2 hour light ride or optional climb to tram road, Departs in PM

Sunday: Depart

 

Recommended travel plans:

Arrive: Sunday Morning, to Palm Springs Airport (PSP)

Depart:  Saturday Afternoon, from Palm Springs Airport (PSP)

Campers:  Please email RC with any questions.  Also forward flight information, housing/sleeping requests, dietary needs, etc. Travel dates are recommended, but later arrivals and earlier departures possible.
